lower east side lifestyle

from ralph lauren's wide ties, to mark ecko's graffiti t-shirts, it's always inspiring to read success stories of clothing companies whom have started out by offering a single product.

sophomore, a new york based clothing company founded by chrissie miller in 2003, started out by selling a single product as well (t-shirts). sophomore might not be in the same league as polo or echo, however, they're moving up the ladder as their offerings expand, and gain more attention from celebrities and press. partnering with designer madeleine von froomer, sophomore went from selling t-shirts to a full men's and women's collection of sportswear inspired by manhattan's lower east side style.

sophomore released this trailer that previews their spring/summer 2010 collection:

Sophomore Spring 2010 filmStarring Leo Fitzpatrick, The Virgins, Athena Curry, Lesley Arfin and other friends. Directed by Cass Bird and Styled by Mel Ottenberg.

this trailer reminded me a lot about ralph lauren because just like ralph lauren, it looks like sophomore is not just selling clothes, they're selling a lifestyle.
