tim & jean are constantly compared to passion pit because of their synth-pop summer vibe sound. they're even referred to as "the australian passion pit". so are they the next big thing since cut copy? maybe not, but watch out for this young duo as their blissful tunes catches on overseas.

when bizarre is good

among the art movements, surrealism is by far my favorite. from the abstract qualities created by irrational juxtaposition of images, to the emotional responses that are difficult to put into words, surreal art truly fascinates me. more than anything else, i love how surrealism introduces the mind to a world of avant-garde.

what man can accomplish

ever since i picked up the metropolis mag november 2007 issue, i've been following the progress of burj dubai, now, the tallest building in the world.

i was in awe while watching this. it made me sit back and grasp how mind-blowing it is what man can accomplish. though i have seen my fair share of incredible man-made structures during my travels around the world, the undergoing urban development in dubai is clearly out of this world.

as much as i love vampire weekend, i was somewhat disappointed when i first heard cousins (horchata as well). but after seeing this video, cousins sounds so much better live. i'm actaully beginning to like it a lot. i wish they would have utilized more of the strings on contra though. if you let the video continue to stream, a short interview plays and then vw performs white sky.

losing sleep

is it right to say "my circadian rhythm is affected"? well, it definitely isn't normal. all thanks to arriving home at 6 am from last nights party and staying up till sunrise.

i found this gorgeous photo a couple days ago. quite fascinating. it has a certain je ne sais quoi.
